Small molecule drug discovery & development
Client: Theryte Ltd, an oncology drug discovery company spin-out from the University of Liverpool
Ithaka’s role:
- To provide management services to Theryte since February 2007 in assisting the founder to commercialise his technology. Dr Bill Primrose of Ithaka is part-time CEO of Theryte and has led the development of a new business plan, negotiations of deals with key CRO’s and collaborations with other research organisations. He also manages the R&D, including out-sourcing target identification, synthetic chemistry, pharmacokinetics, toxicology and in vivo studies.
Results:
- Dr Primrose has also obtained further financing for the business from new angel investors and existing investors.
Client: NVM Private Equity / YFM Private Equity and Gentronix
Ithaka’s role:
- To perform two business and technical due diligence assessments on Gentronix, a University of Manchester spin-out developing a novel toxicology test for use in pharmaceutical development.
Results:
- Investment of over £1M for Gentronix.
